Because I needed a place for the randomness of work, life, and all the shit in between.

Teachers, TAKE NOTE.
People, TAKE NOTE.
Everyone: become better at something you want to be better at. Because you CAN.

…don’t ever forget that!
And don’t say “I’ll never be good”. You can become better! and one day you’ll wake up and you’ll find out how good you actually became.

A Nerdy Girl Talking about Geeky Things: On the Objectification of Women

To which I say: Hell to the yes.

geekyjessica:

There seem to be people who…

For the first eight years of our marriage, [Michelle and I] were paying more in student loans than what we were paying for our mortgage. So we know what this is about.

And we were lucky to land good jobs with a steady income. But we only finished paying off our student loans—check this out, all right, I’m the President of the United States—we only finished paying off our student loans about eight years ago.

The President. Of our country. Wrote this.

—President Obama in North Carolina today on why Congress has to act to prevent interest rates on student loans from doubling (via barackobama)

There just aren’t enough. Women in general. Women of ethnic origins that aren’t limited to white/anglo, more specifically. And I don’t understand why.

You forgot one:

And!

Not to mention

^ Is there any doubt that these women are amazing? I think not. Why don’t we get more of them? #eternalquestioniseternal

Wil Wheaton. Of Star Trek. Face of Boe’ing from Doctor Who. And, more tangentially, Torchwood.

My fandoms just collided. The resulting explosion: brain bunk time. I shall cuddle Vera and weep with joy. But mostly hysteria.
